WSR Narrative Review |
|
Story Synopsis:
Eastwood produced and directed this modern Western which rode off with four 1992 Academy Awards®, including Best Picture and Best Director. Eastwood and Freeman play retired, down-on-their-luck outlaws William Munny and Ned Logan, who pick up their guns one more time to collect a bounty offered by vengeful prostitutes for the defacing of one of theirs by a drunken cowboy.
LaserDisc Picture:
This is a dark imaged film photographed in dark night or in dimly lit frontier interiors. To optimize the picture’s contrast you will want to view the movie in a darkened setting. Landscapes look natural as do flesh tones in difficult interior scenes.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
Viewing this film is a chilling experience heightened by an aggressive surround soundtrack that we were able to further enhance in the Fosgate Model 3A 70mm Wide mode. A thunderstorm produced bass down to a solid 25 Hz and the pounding rain throughout much of the movie sounded real enough to heighten the drama and tension.
