WSR Narrative Review |

Story Synopsis:
Consenting Adults is an exciting and sexy thriller that stars Academy Award® winner Kevin Kline with Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio as a couple caught up with Kevin Spacey in deception and betrayal. As the two neighboring couples quickly become good friends, the mutual attraction between the four progresses to infidelity and then murder. Kline is accused of murdering his neighbor’s wife, a crime he didn’t commit.
LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is matted to 1.85:1, but technically this disc is very disappointing. The picture is red shifted, noisy and very soft.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound has limited bandwidth and is slightly noisy and harsh. Surround is seldom used effectively and then it is subtle. The soundtrack had the potential for greater dynamics and bass extension, and an aggressive use of surround energy for a more thrilling experience.
