Story Synopsis:
Airheads is the hilarious tale of a three wannabe head-banger musicians (Rrendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi and Adam Sandler) and their thrash-metal rock band, The Lone Rangers. They have been rejected by every record company in Los Angeles and are sick of their menial day jobs. In a final act of desperation, they sneak into a “rebel rock” radio station in an attempt to get their demo tape played on the air. Through a series of misunderstandings, they take over the station and create a hostage crisis using toy guns. The antics that follow are really dumb, but actually pretty funny, especially in a slapstick way.
LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is matted at 1.85:1. Fleshtones are unnaturally over-saturated. While colors are vivid and blacks are solid, scenes exhibit varying quality. Slight grain and noise is noticeable in the dark scenes.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack attempts to provide some ambient surround envelopment besides the music which is the focus.
