Story Synopsis:
Angels In The Outfield is based on the 1951 motion picture Angels In The Outfield from the Turner Entertainment Library. This modern version stars Danny Glover as the frustrated coach of the California Angels, a major league baseball team that has seen better days. A young fan, 11 year-old Roger (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), who lives in a foster home, prays that the Angels will win the pennant so that his father will come and take him away. His prayers are answered in the form of a real Angel (Christopher Lloyd) and his co-Angels that only he can see, as they help the players along the season’s road to win the pennant and give
LaserDisc Picture:
Exemplary picture quality that is natural and extremely sharp with no apparent artifacts, grain or noise to mar this solid presentation. Fleshtones are accurate and colors are vividly rendered with deep, solid blacks. The picture has been matted at 1.85:1.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is disappointedly mono. Even the baseball crowd scenes are disguised by stereo music mixed into the surrounds.
