Story Synopsis:
Friday is the energetic comedy set in a day in the life of an East L.A. “hood.” Ice Cube plays Craig, a nice-enough guy with some crazy friends. One being Smokey (Chris Tucker), who has 24 hours to pay Big Worm back for smoking the weed he was supposed to sell. Before the sun sets, Craig manages to bail his friend out of trouble, land a new job before his parents evict him and survive a climactic confrontation with Deebo—the neighborhood menace.
LaserDisc Picture:
The matted 1.85:1 picture is filtered throughout and is orange hued. The photography is claustrophobic being filled with medium closeup shots throughout. Picture quality is inconsistent with some apparent noise, but no artifacts.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is mediocre quality except for the rap/pop score and natural dialogue.
