Story Synopsis:
A scandalous triangle of desire and passion results between American statesman, Thomas Jefferson (Nolte), his 15-year old slave and aAmerican statesman Thomas Jefferson (Nolte) and his daughter (Gwyneth Paltrow) are posted to Paris, the heart of a socially permissive, liberal France. There he falls in love with a mysterious and worldly woman (Scacchi), but is irresistibly drawn to another, his 15-year-old slave and secret lover. The affair results in a scandalous triangle of desire and passion.

The picture is matted at 1.85:1. Images are soft overall with natural fleshtones, deep, solid blacks and vivid colors. Costuming is beautifully colorful and the picture displays excellent contrast. The picture is without distracting grain, noise or artifacts.

The sound is meager stereophonic with subtle surround envelopment limited to the music score and an occasional effect.
