Story Synopsis:
Coach Bombay (Emilio Estevez) and the original Ducks are back in D3: The Mighty Ducks, the second sequel to the 1992 smash The Mighty Ducks. When Bombay informs the team that he is moving on, he leaves the Ducks with a new school, a new mascot, a new coach that seems to be their worst nightmare and a new captain after Charlie Conway (Joshua Jackson) loses his position. With a JV vs. Varsity showdown coming up, the Ducks and their opponents engage in a series of outrageous pranks to prepare.
LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, matted at 1.85:1, exhibits excellent color fideliy throughout. Some scenes appear to be slightly hazy, but generally images are sharp and detailed with excellent shadow detail and contrast. Only the slightest noise is apparent.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital 5.1 discrete soundtrack effectively uses the split surround capability and is preferred over the matrix PCM. Both versions have nicely spatial soundfields that aggressively wrap into the surrounds. The music score is well recorded with an excellent soundstage presence. Dialogue, however, is distorted and poorly integrated.
