    Story Synopsis:
    Ice Cube stars as Vusi, a South African freedom fighter who has returned home to bury his father in the action-drama Dangerous Ground. Apartheid is over, but now the drug wars are destroying his people—and his brother, Steven (Eric “Waku” Miyeni), is mysteriously missing. During his desperate search through Johannesburg, Vusi joins forces with Karen (Elizabeth Hurley), a beautiful street-smart stripper and soon discovers that Steven has run up a huge cocaine debt with a relentless drug lord (Ving Rhames).

    LaserDisc Picture:
    The picture, matted at 1.85:1, exhibits generally natural color fidelity with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. Slight noise and grain is apparent with occasional minor artifacts. Images are sharp and detailed with slight overenhancement. The black and white scenes are grainy, but exhibit a good grayscale.

    LaserDisc Soundtrack:
    Both the Dolby® Digital 5.1 discrete and matrix PCM soundtracks sound excellent. The music is well recorded, but the discrete places lead singers in the right front channel creating a distracting imbalance. Bass is deep, to below 25Hz, and surround effects are often split and directional prominently in the front channels. Dialogue is natural sounding.
