WSR Narrative Review |

Story Synopsis:
8 Heads In A Duffel Bag is a twisted black comedy that finds hit man Tommy (Joe Pesci) and college kid Charlie (Andy Comeau) accidentally switching duffel bags at the airport. What Charlie doesn’t realize is that Tommy’s bag contains the heads of eight “former associates”—and they are supposed to be delivered to an angry mob boss in San Diego, not vacationing in Baja.
LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 picture exhibits fully saturated colors with natural fleshtones and deep, blacks. Images are sharp and detailed with good shadow detail and contrast. Exteriors are extremely natural looking throughout. Slight noise and grain is apparent in the darker interior scenes, but there are virtually no artifacts.
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The matrix Dolby® Surround soundtrack is rather conventional in character, with the music score providing the stereo soundstage dimension and subtle surround envelopment. The music is nicely recorded with excellent soundstage depth and width. Occasional sound effects are directionalized with limited subtle surround presence. Dialogue sounds natural with excellent spatial integration
