WSR Narrative Review |
|
Story Synopsis:
Burt Reynolds returns as the smooth-talkin’ Gator McKlusky in Gator, the high-octane sequel to his hit White Lightning. Gator is causin’ trouble again as he leads state troopers and federal revenue agents on a hair-raising boat chase through the Georgia backwater. What he doesn’t know is that they want him to go undercover to expose Bama McCall (Jerry Reed), his boyhood pal who is now a local crime boss involved in extortion, prostitution—and murder. And when these friends turn into deadly enemies, Gator turns into a super-charged adventure filled with double-barrel action.
LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, like its prequel, looks dated with inconsistencies, but colors are more fully saturated and more natural looking throughout. Images are generally sharp and detailed, but are sometimes wanting in clarity and appearing overly soft. Often exterior scenes look hazy and overly bright, while interiors are plugged up with bleeding colors. Interior noise and minor artifacts are apparent. The picture is framed at 2.32:1
LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is undistinguished monaural that sounds compressed.
