WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
What begins as an innocent first romance turns to deadly obsession when a charming young man, David (Mark Wahlberg), sets his sights on a 16 year-old girl in Fear. Isolated in the woods and surrounded by water, Nicole (Reese Witherspoon) has a beautiful home to grow up—or become trapped—in. Her father, Steve (William Peterson) is uneasy upon meeting David and soon discovers the young man isn’t who he appears. And when David betrays her trust—Nicole’s rejection unleashes a side of him she never wanted to see.

LaserDisc Picture:
The framed 2.35:1 picture is exemplary in all image aspects, particularly the naturalness of the picture. The slightest artifacts are apparent.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is conventional with “manufactured” ADR-produced forward dialogue that is poorly integrated with the scenes. Stereo effects and a well recorded rock and orchestra music score are the soundtrack’s attributes, offering a very aggressive surround presence. Throughout numerous scenes, the powerful low frequency bass extension delivers thrilling and aggressive soundfield excitement.
